Engagement
Education
The SAPhS promotes the application of pharmaceutical knowledge in practice and keeps education in new areas of pharmaceutical activity up to date. It develops recommendations and guidelines for university-level teaching in pharmaceutical sciences. Since 2021, the responsibility for education in pharmaceutical sciences in Switzerland (EphSS, in German Ausbildung Pharmazeutische Wissenschaften Schweiz (APhWS)) lies with the SAPhS.
The SAPhS promotes continuing education by linking teaching and research at a high scientific level. This includes (co-)organizing seminars and congresses, often in collaboration with professional societies and with the allocation of continuing education credit points.

Promotion of young talent
SAPhW has launched the Pharma Mentoring program to support young pharmacists in their careers. It promotes career entry and further development through workshops and close collaboration with experienced mentors.
Supporting early-career pharmaceutical scientists is a key priority of the SAPhS. At the SPhSD, emerging researchers have the opportunity to present their findings to a broad audience during the poster session. Selected contributions are also invited to showcase their work in a short oral presentation.
Congresses
Communication and platform
The SAPhS communicates the current state of pharmaceutical sciences through dedicated “Boards of Academic Excellence”, each responsible for a specific area within the field. These boards represent pharmaceutical sciences in the public domain, publish statements for the media, and advise authorities on issues regarding health policy issues.
The SAPhS recognizes outstanding achievements of both established researchers and emerging scientists with awards and honors.
The SPhSD Research Prizes recognize the best presentations and posters, which are subsequently published in the confernce report.
The prestigious Reichstein Medal is awarded to individuals in Switzerland and abroad for exceptional contributions to the pharmaceutical sciences.
