The Swiss Academy of Pharmaceutical Sciences connects across various professional areas over pharmaceutical sciences.
Portrait
The SAPhS is the official body of pharmaceutical sciences in Switzerland. On the one hand, it represents pharmacists working in research and scientific practice; on the other hand, it serves as a link between research and pharmaceutical practice across the various disciplines of pharmacy.
Engagement
In specific working groups and boards, the SAPhW is committed to advancing pharmaceutical sciences across their various roles and professional branches.
Particularly in education, we are dedicated to providing future-oriented training for the next generation of pharmacists. Our goal is to highlight the wide range of career opportunities in pharmaceutical sciences and to offer low-threshold opportunities for networking and connecting with experienced colleagues through various events held under the name of the SAPhS.
Outstanding achievements are recognized through awards, which also serve to support and facilitate the entry and development of the next generation.
Swiss Pharma Science Day SPhSD
The SAPhS organizes the annual “Swiss Pharma Science Day,” a conference dedicated to the exchange of research topics in pharmaceutical fields, with a particular focus on early-career academics. Each year, a current topic is explored through lectures and discussions led by recognized experts.
A key component of the event is driven by young researchers, who have the opportunity to present their work through poster sessions and short talks. Outstanding contributions are honored with awards.
Network
The SAPhS maintains active exchange with organizations in Switzerland and abroad related to the pharmaceutical profession. Through its engagement with pharmacists in public pharmacies, clinical environments, and research, it brings together scientific topics and perspectives.
Collaboration with key national professional societies and organizations (GSIA, GSASA, SAPP, pharmaSuisse) is essential for linking science with practice.
The SAPhS also maintains relationships with national sister academies (SAMW, SATW, SANW), international professional societies (DPhG, ÖPhG) and international organizations such as the WHO, and is a member of international associations such as EUFEPS and FIP.
